How to overcome getting fucked by the mods on the largest adult site?
I don't think I can say the name of the site here, but I'm sure you know the one.
Getting your game up there is the biggest visibility boost your game gets. Your game goes to the top of the main "Games" forum list, and stays on the front page for 2-3 days. Then the second page for a couple days, etc.
I put a lot of work into making sure my post looked great, followed all the rules, bc your game only gets to go to the top of this list once (updates get your game "promoted" to a different page, where you stay for less than a day).
For unknown reasons, the mods took 11 days to approve my post, causing my game to appear for the very first time on page 5 of the main games forum. They posted/approved more than 100 other games before mine (games which were submitted after me).
The feedback and response that I got on the game has been phenomenal, relative to the views I got. It's gotten way more likes and great reviews than the games that were posted at the same time as mine - but those games got literally tens of thousands more views than me.
It's especially frustrating bc clearly I did something right with the game. The people who see it have said glowing things about it. But almost nobody saw it.
Honestly it's just incredibly deflating. I put a lot of work into this, and I feel like I was robbed of the fair chance that all the other games get.
It's a bizarre feeling, to feel great that the game clearly has the potential for success, but then realize that that makes the scenario so much more frustrating, bc it means the game could have had so much more of a response if it had gotten a fair shot at visibility.
Rant over I guess. Idk if there's anything anyone can do to help, just had to get this off my chest.
