Hello everybody. I am a nurse who is big into mental health and stabilizing nervous systems. AMA
hello everybody! I am a LPN with a decade of nursing experience and have been in some pretty extreme situations of trauma (if you think it happened to me, it probably did, BUT it's a strength to relate to others!). I recently got myself into a safer environment these past couple years and believe that 'diagnosis' makes people feel like they're broken. I want to say that you're NOT broken, you just have a dysregulated nervous system! Remember, pain is subjective and trauma is pain! Therapy, medication, and other things can be TOOLS to help regulate the nervous system. they are NOT crutches. it's up to YOU to put in the hard work to change and step out of your mental health 'diagnosis'
As a nurse with basic knowledge of the human body, education has helped me ground myself. I still don't have everything figured out yet, but I plan on making a book about mental health challenges and how to break negative loops and turn them into positive ones!
Remember, you build up your own neuron pathways in the brain. Positive thoughts = positive neuron pathways in the brain. Negative thoughts = negative neuron pathways in the brain. Translating this to the more you THINK something about yourself, the more YOU actually believe it.
Let's think positively people! Ask me anything! :D
I will also do my best to reach out and respond to every question when my time is available! (: Also don't be shy to inbox me! Let's try to defeat the mental health crisis all together now!
posted a NSFW tag just for any sensitive questions that people may ask. remember, be kind to each other. We listen here on this thread, we don't judge ❤️
