I've been developing adult video games since early 2022, but my previous work has been developed and released as text-based games written entirely in the Twine engine. I dabbled into Renpy with my second project Animus Non Grata, remastering it in the engine. And now we're feeling confident enough with the fantastic Daz3D artist Synthetic Rush to make a game directly in Renpy and take advantage of the extra visual controls, sound effects and more for an immersive experience.

The game is a story-first, lewd-scenes second game that delivers a gripping narrative firmly from the perspective of its two main characters. Some visual novels choose to reveal information in "out of character" scenes, where you get to see the villain plotting, but in Neuro/Splice you as the player need to experience the plot twists and developments at the same time as the characters. This is a format all my games have had, since the perspective is second person "you" at all times.

We're not trying to do anything revolutionary in the Renpy engine itself, but out strength lies in world-building, writing, pacing and visual quality. Fair warning though: This is an adult game with a body-swap plot, where the male protagonist swaps bodies with the female protagonist. There's a hefty dose of kinky BDSM sex involved too.

The current version (v0.03.0-ch4) is quite short, sitting at around 25 000 words. We're currently working on Chapter 5 and hope to release it late this month or early May.

Story Synopsis

In Neuro/Splice, we follow dual protagonists Cassie Marlowe and Ryke Voss, two sworn enemies of opposing factions. Cassie belongs to the Veilbreakers - an outlawed group of truth-seekers who are convinced that NexaCorp is hiding something profoundly important about the state of the known world. Ryke works for NexaCorp, as a police officer, and has a personal reason to take down Cassie and the Veilbreakers.

The Veilbreakers successfully plant a computer virus in the NexaCorp mainframe, threatening to spill the corporate secrets to the world, before triggering a catastrophic meltdown. The culprits straight-up refuse to reveal how to safely remove it, and time is running out... Ryke and his team form a mad plan: Infiltrate the mixed-gender maximum security prison where Clyde and Eric are held, pretending to be Cassie, and learn the truth about the virus. To do so, they need to use an experimental procedure known as Neuro-Splicing, transferring Ryke's consciousness into Cassie's body.

Ryke (in Cassie's body) is thrown into prison, and a dangerous underground world, in an attempt to learn how to stop the virus. Inevitably he stumbles upon truths about NexaCorp that makes him question everything he knows. Meanwhile, Cassie wakes up in Ryke's body and finds herself in a unique position of power to learn more about the NexaCorp from within its own ranks...

I know my opinion (as the developer) is biased as hell (pun intended), but I truly think that this devilishly kinky fantasy adventure is going to blow your mind if you're into a story-rich FMC game with bondage. Story Synopsis
