Requesting Community Feedback: Account Age Restrictions
Greetings Community, Your mod team was given a suggestion that we have been mulling over and now want you feedback on.
Sure many of you have encounters and interacted with people here who’s reddit accounts are only a few days if hours old and just as suddenly deleted.
While the reasoning's for these mayfly accounts vary from nefarious elements that you Mod Team do their best to deal with to simple members who just feel shame and embarrassment soon after interacting here.
To better help combat the scammers and ban evaders that will just not leave this community alone we are looking to implement a minimum account age for interaction in this community.
Current thoughts are 2 weeks so any account that’s under 14 days old will have all their posts/comments immediately removed and given a temporary ban till their account meets the appropriate existence age.
But before we did anything like that, we wanted to get some feedback from the community on if you all want this, longer/shorter account age or anything else you want to hold a public discussion on about the state of the sub and its community.
